The Basal Ganglia
Anatomy: The basal ganglia is located deep within the cerebral hemispheres. It is closely connected to the cerebral cortex, thalamus, and brainstem, as well as several other brain areas.
Function: The basal ganglia has a role in controlling cognition and voluntary movement and coordinating all movements in the body. |
